In episode 146 Allan gives Dylan a music, history and philosophy lesson. They play an album from a frontman & singer that sure deserves it. They invite you to try something new on the geta away song after coming at you three times in set three. Wait, what?

  1. Man, a lot to unpack from this Episode…..

    * Was the band Herzog named after longtime baseball manager Whitey Herzog? Amazing, if so…good song, too.

    * The J Geils band was a musical force live! What a massive, powerful, and energetic sound they had. I wish my pre-teen self could have figured out a way to have seen them live, what an experience that would have been. Sheesh…

    * Paul Rodgers has such an amazing voice, even to this day. That was a solid Album Spotlight, and kudos to whoever played guitar on that recording. That guy was all over it…

    * I’ve always thought Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone” was a reaction to a certain female that “big-timed” him at some point in his life. Nobody likes to be big-timed, and certainly he never forgot. A cautionary tale…and to me, a musical journey of “this too shall pass.” That’s my guess, but only Bob knows for sure! Brilliant…I never get tired of this song…

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone….I sincerely hope that everybody is happy and well…..

  2. From Muddy to Hank to the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan, man you covered some ground with that opening. Great show. The cover it and get away were my favorites. I will have to do some research on Paul Rodgers. I had never heard of him but enjoyed the album spotlight. Glad I am not in Buffalo and glad November is over. See you guys in a week or two.
