See What I Hear? Episode 142

In episode 142 Allan & Dylan return to a wide variety of music and, apparently, topics to discuss. They play a “front door” record for the spotlight and then really wear out a topic all while Dylan climbs the walls. Wait, what?

  1. Excellent start to show, variety as expected. As closely in genersl that I followed rock and roll over the years never really had a good feel for Motorhead , agree that was a nice set to get acquainted. More nuance than I would have predicted.

Cover and closer great. Dire Straits certainly sounded tight !

  2. Fine show, always enjoy you “throwing out the genres!”

Great selections throughout, and yep, ring the Bell…

Another Album Spotlight that I own myself, that Aftershock album by Motörhead is an underrated gem.

Lemmy was never just a metal guy, he truly loved and appreciated all forms of Rock N’ Roll. He loved the blues, adored The Beatles, and had a rockabilly band on the side. He truly meant it when in every concert he announced….”We are Motörhead, and we play Rock N’ Roll!” So glad you showcased the depth of the band with this Album Spotlight.

I agree with RPD, the cover song and closing song were perfect. I recently got a box set collection of live Dire Straits albums…man…those guys were a force in a live setting. Mark Knopfler was the genius of it all, but his band mates were the real deal, too. Great stuff…

    Hope everybody is well!

  3. Great opening, great close and the middle was entertaining. I don’t think I can say it better than that. Am getting a little concerned about your cryptic comments about” the dreaded 150th episode”. I hope you have more coming, but than again it is your show. It was a great weekend of sports and music. Fall is off to a great start.

  4. Great episode! The Dwight Yoakam song grabbed me right from the start. I’ve never heard it before. I really liked that whole first segment…..great vibe. Love The Damn Yankees and Dire Straits. I am not all that familiar with Motorhead, but I enjoyed their songs.

Definitely don’t play more hits! I enjoy discovering new music through this podcast. Keep up the good work!
