Really, really good show!
Loved the harder edge to this episode, and a great selection of crunchy, guitar based songs.
Standouts were the songs by Flotsam and Jetsam,
Rival Sons, George Lynch, and Motörhead. The Motörhead song without Lemmy on vocals was really interesting, and a totally different side to the band.
I really enjoyed the Album Spotlight. I have always loved the Bon Scott AC/DC era, but I never got into the Brian Johnson era. I’m guessing due to ear fatigue, having heard the Back In Black album songs a gazillion times growing up. But I really enjoyed these songs, and “Rocking the Blues Away” was fantastic. I’m gonna explore some of these later AC/DC albums, now.
Good cover, and the late 70’s / early 80’s Kinks had always been has always been a favorite of mine. Great way to finish the show.
Hope everyone is ready for fall!
Good episode! I really enjoyed it!
I was not ready, and that is a good thing. This show did have an edge but after about four listens I started to appreciate the music and saw what you were doing. Keep changing the shows and playing whatever you feel like playing. Week 6 of high school football guys, time does fly. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
Agree with acdc assessment, don’t know the album existed …but they brought it and sounded great
Thanks again for introducing me to Rival Sons
