Good show!
Loved the first set with the Everly Brothers, and the bands that were influenced by them. That REM song was a blast from the past, man, I really liked their first handful of albums. Once they achieved some mainstream success, their music was never the same, in my opinion. And of course, they felt the need to get political, as well. A common tale in music, I suppose.
Very solid Album Spotlight, and I agree, the Cars had great songwriting and a great sound on those first 3 albums.
Solid cover, and the Getaway song was really good. I’ve always been curious about Be Bop Deluxe….now I’m even more curious! Gonna have to kick the tires and explore…
Hope everyone is well, and enjoying the spring like weather…!
I am happy it is finally March. In fact I am turning the clocks ahead while listening to your show. Glad to hear the Everly Brothers again, I was a big fan. The first set and the cover it section were my favorite sections of the podcast. Have to admit I am looking ahead to your summer shows they are always among my favorites. Keep the shows coming.
Was never a big fan of the Everly Brothers when I was young but learned to appreciate them as I grew older. Really good spotlight and cover song. Nice episode to spring forward to.
Al, def catching up, time is sprinting at this point, need back to a jog
Good show and variety. Cars album feature was great…first track I cannot recall ever hearing. We need to talk about their first album cover …I’m in agreement. Apparently band disliked it, but record label was right in this case
Enjoyed the getaway
