Good show!
I really enjoyed The Album Spotlight, what an interesting band. Rare Earth had a really cool sound, and yes, they could definitely play! They reminded me of Humble Pie a little bit, with that mix of blues, rock, and even a bit of funk/soul.
Really good stuff!
Enjoyed the Traffic song, and that live Scorpions track was such a great selection. Any 1970’s Scorpions with Uli Jon Roth on guitar is just wonderful listening, and that live Tokyo Tapes album is really good.
Finally, I second your idea on The Getaway song. Let’s stay happy and positive during these rough winter months!
Hope everybody is well!
Cool show! I started this new year curious about music from the 60’s/70’s so this was definitely cool.
Those were some interesting band names to start off. I definitely would not have sought out albums from a band called Eggs Over Easy or that Poodle band, but hey they sounded pretty good!
Loved the songs by Boston and the Scorpions. The album spotlight had a great sound. Pretty cool!
Happy New Year!!
Couple of random thoughts. Good show to kick off 2024. Looking forward to see where you go this year with your podcast. Still listening to your Christmas shows, I want to hang on to the good vibes awhile longer. Congrats on passing 6,500 hits, that is a great feat. Loved the cover song and the getaway song. I hope we all have a good year.
